Tainan was initially not in the itinerary but as we went on with the trip, many Taiwanese recommended the city and I was convinced to visit it. However, rooms are not cheap there. We settled for a homestay near to some of the attractions we are going to visit and we were told to get off at the wrong stop D: We probably walked 30minutes with our heavy backpacks and persipiring like madddd
First stop was to a old street where there were forts built long ago. One of the house is filled with Banyan trees growing inside out !
After that we walked to a night market which is about 3km away. Took about an hour or two and ended up at a wrong place HAHA Saw a lot of food places on the way though. No wonder they say Tainan is filled with food.
old school restaurant
We also saw this bakery that sells mini pots of plant which is actually tiramisu!
大东 night market is pretty big compared of the ones we have recently been to. A lot of different food too :D Was so full but we still bought food back to our homestay hehe
11th
Walked to another area with old forts (we walked A LOT) and ate famous noodles call 度小月. A small simple bowl of noodles but it was pretty good :D Happy food makes happy people~
After visiting the forts we waited for the bus to bring us to the salt mountain outside of the city for about 1.5h because when Felicia called the service hotline he said that a bus would be arriving in 15 minutes but when we called again (when the bus did not arrive after half and hour), the lady told her that it was a false information and the next, and last, bus will arrive at 4pm.
When the bus arrived there were only the two of us haha We stopped by at different places along the way and the salt mountain was pretty cool!
Panorama shot from the top of the mountain. It is not exactly a mountain but more like a hill? The whole place smells like salt too. And all the bite size food they sell includes salt - salted ice cream, salted milk tea, yadda yadda
After that we went to a huge mazu temple and I was amazed by all the carvings and all! The bus driver later ask if we visited Yue Lao D: Can he tell I want a relationship or something? HAHA
When we returned to the city we visited another night market call 小北 night market which was far smaller. Asked the bus driver about the night market and he was telling us all the possible routes but we chose to walk instead. haha We walked so much during this trip I hope I am slimming down. At least the thighs PLEASE
